Louis was born into the Zexen nobility and is the youngest of seven brothers. As a boy, he wanted to be a knight and his father encouraged him to do so. He enlisted in the military academy at age 10 and became a page. He was particularly good at swordsmanship, but not so great at archery.
His father had taken in Lady Chris when her father died, so they grew up together. Thus, it when she was knighted, she made him her squire. He worked hard, and lived the life many young men dreamed of--constantly in the company of the Six Mighty Knights and learning all he could from them.
After the Fire Bringer War, he returned to his training, until he was summoned to Budehuc Castle three years ago.
He continued his training for knighthood at the castle, but before he could pass his trial he was viciously attacked. He eventually recovered from his wounds and found himself in love with Tanya, a girl who had arrived from the Island Nations.
Tanya left him, unexplained one day and he set off to find her. Nearly a year passed until he returned and realized that she didn't want to be found.
When he returned to the castle, he became fast friends with Apple, and despite the difference in their ages, they found themselves enamored with each other. Fate hurt Louis a second time when he was wounded during a battle with a monster that had invaded the castle and he lost part of his left leg.
Now at 19 years old and engaged to be married to Apple, he works everyday to find some meaning in his life and to overcome his disability.
